Interventions

Speech Sound Delays/Disorders
*Articulation - errors with one or more sounds
*Phonological Processing - speech sound errors that occur across a class of sounds
*Apraxia of Speech - a motor speech disorder that causes significant but inconsistent errors in speech sound production. It is the difficulty with the signal between the brain and the muscles to consistently and correctly produce sounds.

Language Delays/Disorders
Delays/Disorders can occur in one or all of its components.
*Receptive Language is what we have and process to prepare for an output.
*Expressive Language is that output. It can be verbal, written, signed etc.
Each of these larger components can be further broken down into:
Semantics - Vocabulary knowledge and use
Syntax - Grammar knowledge and use
Supralinguistics - Inferencing, answering questions, reasoning
Pragmatics - Social language

Fluency Disorders
*Stuttering - an interruption in the flow of speaking, characterized by any or all of the following: repetitions, prolongations and blocks
*Cluttering - a fluency disorder characterized by atypical pauses, deletion of syllables and endings of words, frequent topic shifting, and stuttering behaviors

Behavioral Feeding
*Food aversions not due to an underlying medical condition
*Addresses the root cause and changes a child's feelings towards food by using a heirarchy approach
